Perfect ways to treat your mum!
At The Bell Inn, we appreciate the importance of family like no other.
Privately owned by the Crosthwaite-Eyre family for over 230 years, we’re one of the oldest family-owned inns in Hampshire and are proud to be a much-loved landmark in the tiny New Forest village of Brook.
To celebrate family this Mothering Sunday, we’ve put together the ideal forest itinerary… the perfect way to say “thank you”.
Breakfast in bed
Wake mum up with a morning surprise – how about scrambled egg, smoked salmon and toasted brioche? Our favourite is the New Forest Full English Breakfast… Bacon, sausage, fried eggs, mushroom, grilled tomatoes and fried bread. Top it off with a fruity floral tea and a bunch of beautiful daffodils.
Sunday lunch, New Forest style
Whether you walk up an appetite or just want to enjoy the Sunday papers in front of the fire, The Bell Inn’s Sunday lunch is like no other. With locally sourced ingredients, food sourced directly from our own estate and a bespoke menu made with mums in mind, there’s no better way to say “thank you” on March 6 than with a Sunday Lunch at The Bell Inn.
Walk it off
Whether you want to walk off your lunch or make the most of the country air, put on your boots and head out for a sightseeing walk around the forest. Whatever the weather, we can guarantee stunning views, friendly locals and the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the grazing animals that roam the local land.
Shop until you drop
Not far from Brook is Lyndhurst, well known as the New Forest’s ‘capital’ town. Here you’ll find a wide range of boutique shops, cosy tea rooms, old world pubs, cafes and fine restaurants to discover all within walking distance… mum will love it!
