Top Trends for Your 2017 Wedding

Getting married at The Bell Inn couldn’t be easier. Our Garden Room and New Forest Room are licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, and we have a dedicated events planner to help ensure you have a magical day.

Couples usually have a firm idea of how they want their day to be – from glamorous or rustic to intimate, relaxed or formal – but even once you’ve decided on that, there’s still plenty to organise and plan.

If you’re stuck for inspiration, check out our top wedding trends for 2017 – they’ve certainly got us thinking…

Metallics

Specks of diamante on the dress, silver or gold accessories, and shimmers of sparkles and shine are going to be seen at all the best weddings this year, so try to incorporate them into your stationery, jewelry or even the wedding cake. A subtle hint of rose gold is tipped to be the biggest trend this year.

Bringing the Wild Indoors

Ever since Kate Middleton brought a mini avenue of trees into her Westminster Abbey wedding we’ve been wild about wild: flowers, fruits, berries, feathers and a return to using dried flowers in ever more ambitious displays – you could even go the full Kate and hire trees for your space.

We’ve all seen the bride’s eye view, now get ready for the bird’s eye view – your wedding filmed from above by a drone. Drones can produce great moving footage and also still images that look great on a giant canvas. Ensure that whoever you do hire is fully qualified and insured, and ask to see some similar work they’ve done.

Personalisation

Monogrammed dance floors, menus, food that has a particular meaning for the happy couple, or even your furry friend – it’s all going to get ultra-personal in the nicest possible way for 2017, say wedding experts.

Mismatch

Yes, it’s true, everything does not have to match. Vintage weddings lead the way with their mismatched crockery and chairs, and now couples are relaxing about having different flower arrangements on their tables, mismatched cutlery and home-made touches to cut costs.

Alternative Cake

Couples are opting for three-tier cheese cakes, three-tier pork pie cakes (handy for evening guests with the munchies) and even giant pudding cakes.

Whether your wedding day is a small, private affair or a large, lavish party, we will work with you to make your occasion special. The large garden to the side of the Garden Room is ideal for sitting under a marquee in order to enjoy summer celebrations al fresco.

The Bell Inn can host up to 50 daytime and 110 evening wedding guests and 40 overnight wedding guests, making us one of the best wedding venues in Hampshire.

Please contact our events planner on 02380 812214 or email us to discuss how we can put the special into your special day.
