Things To Do On National Dog Day
Saturday 26th August
It goes without saying that we’re one of the most dog-friendly hotels in New Forest – we firmly believe that dogs are a man’s (and woman’s!) best friend. It’s only right after all, with all the love and loyalty they provide us, that they are given their very own national day. Dogs range from being our pets and best friends to working with the police and other people in need, and it is this incredibly caring nature of our dogs that give our New Forest hotel a million and one reasons to love all things doggy.
In return for everything our four-legged friends give us every day of the year, we’ve come up with some ways to celebrate with your pet this National Dog Day.
Make a donation to your preferred dog charity or sponsor a dog. There are lots of dogs this National Dog Day that don’t yet have their forever home, and Happy Dog Rescue are a local organization committed to helping dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes.
If we left off New Forest walking holidays with dogs then this wouldn’t be much of a list! There are plenty of wonderful walks available right on our door step, so once you’re done pop into The Bell Inn (your favourite pooch is more than welcome at the bar) order yourself a drink and your pet can indulge in their own glass of Pawsecco or Snuffle beer or tuck into something from the Doggie Menu!
Spread the word about National Dog Day by taking a photo of your pooch at The Bell Inn or on a local walk. Use the hashtag #BellInnDogday so we can all enjoy your best friend, or even see if you look alike!
National Dog Day is the perfect time to pamper your pooch – why not arrange for them to be spruced up with a grooming session? You could try New Forest Dogs who offer a range of treatments for your furry companion. They might need it if the weather causes mud!
Treat your lovable pet to their own relaxing break – stay at The Bell Inn with your dog and they can join you in your room, accompany you in the bar and make memories together during one of the best walking holidays with dogs you’ll ever have.
And there we have it! We’d love to use this opportunity to wish all our wonderful canines and their owners a marvelous time with your dog this National Dog Day on 26th August.
