Meet The Team: Getting to know Waitress, Paris
Find out why Paris loves our New Forest Hotel as well as our seasonal dishes…
Here at The Bell Inn, we’re extremely proud of our reputation and the ‘estate-to-plate’ ethos that is the driving force behind our food. To further champion our offering, we thought it was time to have a chat with one of our Front of House team – our waitress Paris. Read on to find out about a typical day at work and why she loves the New Forest.
1.) Hi Paris, thanks for taking the time out to have a chat with us. Easy question first – how long have you worked at The Bell Inn?
Hello! No problem. I’ve been working at the Inn for 18 months now.
2.) We know how demanding yet rewarding a typical day as a waitress can be. Can you tell us a little bit about an average shift?
I spend most of my time at work talking and building a rapport with customers. I think that’s a really important part of being in the Front of House team. In between the conversation and welcoming guests, I’m always serving and helping with bar work!
3.) As part of the Front of House team, you must have tried some of the dishes on the menu. So tell us – what is your favourite dish?
The Cornish hake is delicious – I see hake as cods flakier and sweeter relative!
4.) The New Forest is beautiful all year round, but you must have a favourite time of year! Have you picked one?
That’s certainly a tough one! The Christmas tree decorations have really put me in the festive mood this year, so I would have to say winter and Christmastime.
5.) Nicely moving on from the last question – as a waitress you must have a close relationship with the bar team. What is your drink of choice?
When it is festive it has to be a hot toddy by the fire.
6.) What do you love about the New Forest and why?
Riding my horses and walking the dogs. Life doesn’t get any better. Simple.
7.) The next question was going to ask if you had a dog! What breed/name identifies your four-legged friend?
I have three! Silver the Weimaraner, Rio the German shorthaired pointer and Binky – my pug!
8.) Out of these New Forest wild animals, which would you choose to be and why? Pig, Cow, Horse, Sheep, Duck, Hare or Pheasant.
It would have to be a horse as I love horses.
9.) What is your favourite memory at work?
Our Race Day event with our loyalty club guests back in September. We had such a great time talking with the guests. When we arrived back from lunch and the races, we all stayed at the Inn and had dinner together, with our new found friends!
If you would like to book a table to sample the fayre at one of the most welcoming restaurants New Forest has to offer, you can do so online or by contacting us.
