Meet The Team: Getting to know Receptionist, Ellie
Find out why Ellie loves our New Forest hotel in our Q&A.
1.) Nothing beats a warm welcome – that’s why we chose the best receptionist to introduce you to The Bell Inn. Thanks for taking the time out to have a chat with us Ellie. Let’s start with how long have you worked here.
I’m The Bell Inn’s Receptionist and I’ve worked here since August 2016.
2.) You’re the first face people see when they come into our New Forest hotel – no pressure! Can you tell us a little bit about an average shift?
Every day is different but it’s the variety that I love. Meeting new guests and welcoming back our regulars… it’s great to offer them all a warm welcome. The best part of my job is all the staff! We are like a big family, plus meeting all the cute dogs too! It’s not difficult to see why New Forest breaks with dogs are so popular.
3.) There’s a massive focus on seasonal and local produce at The Bell. What is your favourite dish?
Without a doubt Sirloin steak and chips, plus a glass of red!
4.) The New Forest is beautiful all year round, but you must have a favourite time of year…
Autumn! I love the beautiful colours, plus I get to see the piglets running the down road – it’s a sight to behold!
5.) You come to work every day and make checking in special for our guests. They’ve chosen our hotel for a reason, but what draws you to the New Forest?
All the animals roaming around. We are lucky to have this on our doorstep and its part of what makes the New Forest so unique. A top tip of mine for those visiting is to always bring a pair of wellies! If you want to venture out then Paulton’s Park is a brilliant place for visitors to stop by too and is one of the most popular New Forest attractions.
6.) Out of these New Forest wild animals, which would you choose to be and why? Pig, Cow, Horse, Sheep, Duck, Hare or Pheasant.
I would definitely have to be a little piggy causing mayhem in the verges!
7.) What is your favourite memory at work?
We once had a pig escape from the road into the Bar… it sounds farcical but it was just hilarious watching the team attempt to usher him out!
