Our Head Chef swaps the kitchen for the field

If you’re heading to this year’s New Forest Show you may just see a familiar face giving a cookery demonstration!  

Our very own Head Chef, Mark Young, will be making his debut on the Cookery Demonstration Stage, part of the Local Produce Market, on Wednesday 25 July.

The Local Produce Market is jam-packed with members from New Forest Marque, Hampshire Fare and Hampshire Farmers Markets, all showcasing their fantastic local produce. Mark will be joined by some of the very best chefs from the Hampshire area.

During the demonstration Mark will reveal a glimpse into the inner workings of our kitchen and his passion about using all the elements of meat and fish, to ensure nothing goes to waste. He’ll talk about his ‘nose-to-tail ethos’ and how to make the most out of the produce you buy – taking a chicken and creating three dishes – all three of which appear on The Bell Inn’s menu.

Speaking of his upcoming debut, Mark Young said “It’s an absolute honour to be appearing on stage with such an esteemed line-up at what is the largest event in the New Forest this summer. I’m very excited about demonstrating how to use all the elements and respecting a product – it’s what really floats my boat. You shouldn’t be throwing anything anyway. As a member of the New Forest Marque, we’re truly spoilt with good quality food growers and suppliers in the area so I’m only more than happy to support them.”
