Things To Do For All The Family

There’s nothing quite like spending quality time with your loved ones and no hotel knows that more than our family-owned country Inn. We think our beloved location is one of the finest destinations for a day out packed with family fun, so we’ve put together our favourite things to do in the New Forest. With our ever-popular Half Term Break having come round again you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Walking

The New Forest is famed for its beautiful villages, listed buildings and culture-rich history. But perhaps most magnificent of all is the National Park which sits proudly as one of the last remaining tracts of unenclosed pasture land, heathland and forest in Southern England. In the New Forest a walk is one of the very best ways to soak in the surrounding beauty and with 140 miles of tracks and footpaths to be explored, you won’t be stuck for inspiration. Our favourite routes have to include The Burley Food Trail, the perfect choice if you’re little ones have been known to work up an appetite at the first sight of a walk and Bolderwood: Radnor Trail – if you have an interest for all things Mother Nature this is for you. With free-roaming ponies, donkeys, cattle and deer to be admired you can be assured there will be plenty of sights to be seen.

Half Term Break

Courtesy of our seasonal package, The Bell Inn offers the perfect place to host your family day (and night) out. Explore a variety of family-friendly activities in the area and once you’ve worked up an appetite join us at our New Forest hotelfor a delicious locally-sourced meal – there really is something for everyone and kids eat free! Top off your day with a film viewing in our New Forest Lounge (complete with milk and cookies for the little ones) and at the end of it all retreat to one of our cosy rooms for a well-deserved rest. With Disney classics having gone down a treat in past years, we’re looking forward to our guests seeing what’s in store for them this Half Term.

Go Ape!

Perfect for the young and the more mature – Go Ape! is the perfect place to let your hair down and get into the spirit of things. With varying degrees of difficulty you can choose your own path to completion, leave adulthood at the door and get stuck in. As the UK’s number one forest adventure, Go Ape! is sure to not disappoint. They will be back open for business from February, but make sure to book in now to avoid disappointment.

Paultons Park

Set within the National Park is the UK’s number one theme park. Paultons Park offers over 70 rides and attractions – roller coasters, swings and magical worlds all sit behind the gates waiting to be explored. With tropical plants, beautiful lakes and interesting wildlife to be admired, there really is something for all the family. Once the day of family fun is done relax back at The Bell, just a 10 minute drive, with a coffee or a sundowner and a juice for the kids.

Furzey Gardens

A beautiful woodland garden set in the heart of the New Forest is a wonderful way to appreciate the simple things in the good company of your family. Wander around the award-winning gardens complete with a lake, play area and fairy doors to hunt – keeping the children entertained won’t be a problem. Once you’ve finished taking it all in they even have an on-site coffee shop so you can relax and refuel before heading back to our welcoming Inn – just a 7 minute drive away.
